“For I know the plans I have for you,” declared the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
For years, these words have rung in my soul. In an era of mediocrity, I believe that God has so much more for His children – He has “purpose and a hope.” The God of generations gone by is the God of this generation. I believe that His vision for this generation is that we arise and walk in the footsteps of the the men and women who went before us – living and dying for our God … our Jesus.
“And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?”
(Esther 4:14)
I’m a girl and I love the girls of this generation – of my generation. One of reasons why I write – and writing is hard work – is for the girls of my generation. Each and every one of them is precious – the friends of my childhood who are already wives and mothers and the ambitious or disillusioned students at the university in my nearby city as well as the young women of hope who are living for God in their single years.

I want to inspire them with the life-transforming-knowledge that God has “a future and a hope” for each and every one of them – and that just as the great women of God in days gone by knew and loved God and lived for Him, they can know and love God and live for Him.

I don’t for one moment think that I can make this vision a reality in my own strength, but I believe that my God can do anything – and that He can touch hearts and change lives … and give hope … through stories that begin, “Once upon a time …”
